Before the winds of change literally blew through my life (yes Flo, I'm talking about you girl) , I was on the verge of some major life changes...dipping my toe into the plant based lifestyle, while still eating a little meat here and there, flip flopping on the direction I'd like to see my personal chef business take and generally freaking out about how to reconcile my personal beliefs and opinions with the way I earn my income and generally live my life.
News of the local farm devastation from the storm and the aftermath strengthened my vegetative leanings.
( This pic is me at a restaurant industry food show years ago. I really just make love to the camera, don't I ? )
Granted, the smells and contamination from the farms are nothing new, merely exacerbated by the flood waters...but it was easier to turn a blind eye before.
And don't get me started on the death of all of that livestock...I'm not trying to offend anyone here, it just made me really sad.
The more I learn about the meat and dairy industry, the more confident I am in my quest to completely leave it behind.
I want NOTHING to do with it.
I don't want to eat it, I don't want to buy it and I don't want to cook it.
Having said that, I have made up my mind.
Conscience Cuisine LLC is now a plant based company!!!!
I would like to say a hearty THANK YOU!!! to all of my previous patrons! You have all been so wonderful and it was a pleasure cooking for you!!! If you ever go vegan, I would love to work with you again!
I'll be totally revamping the website, restructuring how my business operates, perfecting new recipes, uploading new food pics, pricing my menus for complete transparency for my clients and launching a new ad campaign.
I have a lot of work to do!
There will be stickers involved, cute shameless promotional stickers.
So let me know if you want one!
As always, thanks for reading. Both my mother and my husband recently admitted to not reading my blog. So thank you, imaginary friend, for reading my blah blah blahg. And an optimistic advance thanks for still loving me, plant breath and all.
